StringBoard (stringboard.co.uk) is run by Will. This page explains what personal data I collect, why, and how it's handled. This site is aimed at UK and international customers, and I aim to handle your data in line with UK GDPR.
Uploaded photos are stored in a private cloud storage bucket that isn't publicly accessible and can only be reached via a temporary, authenticated link. They're automatically deleted by an automatic cleanup process, typically within a few hours. If you place an order, the photo you send is instead kept for as long as needed to design, make, and deliver your piece, then deleted. Finished piece photos may be shown publicly on the website or on social media (but your original image will never be shared without your permission).
I don't sell your data. I use a small number of third-party services to run StringBoard, each of which processes data on my behalf:
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on their platforms.
This site doesn't use cookies for advertising or tracking. Site traffic is measured using Vercel Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or store any personal identifiers. The generator stores a few non-sensitive preferences (like your chosen board shape) in your browser's local storage, purely so the tool remembers your settings between visits. This isn't used to track you and isn't shared with anyone.
You can ask me to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time, including any photos or order details I hold. Email info@stringboard.co.uk and I'll sort it promptly. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
I may update this policy as StringBoard changes. Significant changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of this page.
